Spears Cross offers one of the most atmospheric places to stay in Exmoor. The majority of the house was built in 1460. The fine oak front door leads to an elm Plank and Monton hallway with leaded glass.
The comfortable lounge has wooden flooring, ceiling beams and an inglenook fireplace with an ornate wood burning stove. It is the perfect retreat after a day’s walk on Exmoor and tea and coffee are always available. The dining room retains the servant’s bell. The covered outline of the plague door, which linked the majority of the cottages, can be seen.The landing features Plank and Monton panelling. Two of the three bedrooms at the front of the house have Plank and Monton panelling. The Selworthy suite is an annexe to the main house and is at the rear. The extensive gardens are for the use of guests; tea and coffee are readily available and sitting reading has never been as relaxing.

Bedrooms
Every room has a premium quality Relyon Super King Size bed and with a double layer of 2262 pocket springs; just waiting to help you have a super sleep. We have Goose Down Duvets which are delightfully light and cosy as well as Goose Feather pillows. We are able to offer synthetic duvets, pillows or wool blankets as alternatives if you are allergic.
Panasonic flat screen TV’s feature free view channels, additionally we have DVD’s and a small collection of films you can borrow if you prefer an evening in. Music has never sounded so good; we have Bose Music Systems and the definition is totally fantastic. Besides the radio, you have a selection of CD’s with which to sit back and enjoy the music.
Tea and Coffee making facilities, including herbal teas are in the rooms; fresh milk is readily available.
